Welcome to the Walton County Snowbirds Website in Florida
Provide our Snowbird membership with opportunities for social, educational, recreational and charitable growth .
Our Snowbird Club boasts a membership of 700 (and growing!) as we turn the page on the recent pandemic. Our activities and gatherings are open to all winter visitors and residents of the South Walton County area. The club is led by its members, financed by its members, and is for the recreational, social, fellowship, travel and enjoyment of all who participate. Use this site to view all of our activities, gatherings, and registration information, photos and announcements. If you have any questions, please take advantage of the Contact Us feature on the Home page to send us a message.
If there is an activity you would like to see us offer (and would like to lead!) or would like to volunteer to help with the activities of the club, please reach out to any of our Board Members. Our activity leaders and volunteers make our great organization continue to prosper, and have lots of fun while doing so!
Back in 1989, Sandestin Beach Resort was the site of an organizational meeting to establish the Walton County Snowbirds Club. The meeting was attended by more than 100 Snowbirds. On January 12, 1990 the Club officially adopted a constitution, by laws and elected officers. The club was an immediate success, attracting 755 members by the end of the first season. An initial offering of 12 activities has continued to grow over the last 34 years. Through fair weather, a hurricane and a pandemic, the club has always been an important resource for Snowbirds to keep active and engaged during their time in Florida.
A listing of the women and men who have served as President of the Walton County Snowbirds is below. We are grateful for the leadership, passion and effort they have provided to the Club!
It is the Club’s privilege to present Lifetime Memberships to members who serve on the Board of Directors for four years or serve as President. The Club could not exist without its volunteer leaders and we honor those who have guided us over the years.
